SAD NEWS: The General Hospital cast expressed their regret at the passing of actor Chad Duell at the age of 37
General Hospital Stars Respond to Chad Duell’s Exit
Fans weren’t the only ones upset when Chad Duell announced his decision to leave General Hospital after nearly 15 years with the soap playing Michael. His friends and co-stars were, as well. (At least GH’s executive producer Frank Valentini revealed there were no plans to recast the role at this time, so there’s every chance he’ll be back someday!) Many of the actor’s castmates responded to his heartfelt Instagram post with love and support.
Laura Wright (Carly)
“Still mad!” Duell’s TV mom wrote, adding a trio of smiling faces with hearts emojis. “But I adore you!”
Viron Weaver (Wiley)
“Oh no,” Duell’s TV son shared. “I’m so sad you are leaving! I will miss you and want you to know how much I appreciate all your kindness and patience. I learned so much from you and will miss all the fun goofing around we did. Thanks for being the best TV dad I could ask for. I hope you can come back one day.”
Katelyn MacMullen (Willow)
“Love you, Chad!!!” she exclaimed, adding three heart emojis for extra emphasis.
Dominic Zamprogna (Dante)
“Who wrote this for you?” he joked. “Just kidding. I love you, cheddar.”
Andrea Bogart (ex-Abby)
“Aw, sending you love and blessing with all you do, Chad,” the actress shared, adding the hashtag “#mabby” for the once-popular Michael/Abby pairing. “Big hugs!”
Cameron Mathison (Drew)
“Love you, brother,” the actor wrote, adding a fist bump emoji.
Sofia Mattsson (Sasha)
“You will be so missed! Excited to see what’s next!”
Theo and Erik Olson (ex-Wiley)
“Oh man — you will be so missed by everyone!” the twins who originated the role of Wiley wrote. “Can’t wait to see what your future holds!”
Scarlett Fernandez (ex-Charlotte)
“You will be missed! Thanks for always being one of the friendliest and funniest guys on set!”
Eden McCoy (Josslyn)
“I love you,” his TV sister said simply, throwing in a fist bump and star emoji for good measure.
Scarlett Spears (Donna)
After kicking off with a trio of crying face emojis, Duell’s TV sister declared: “Good luck with everything! Scarlett had so much fun with you and getting to know you.”
