Former Bachelor Clayton Echard has not had a great couple of years since his time on the show. He faced tons of drama and criticism while his season was airing. Then, he faced cheating allegations while he was still dating and living with Susie Evans. After that, it got worse when one woman in Arizona tried to convince the courts she was expecting his child. Bachelor Clayton Echard Looks Back At Susie Evans Comment
Former Bachelor Clayton Echard is in a good space now but it took some time to get there. He recently appeared on the Almost Famous podcast where he spoke with Ben Higgins about everything in his life. One topic brought up was about his past relationships. Gabby Windey, Susie and Rachel Recchia were all brought up. They were his final three ladies that led to tons of issues for Clayton. Since Gabby is in a serious relationship they decided to only discuss Rachel and Susie.
Ben had something particular in mind he wanted to talk to Clayton about regarding Susie. He said, “I’m gonna read a quote that Susie said about you during your trial, and it’s interesting. I wanna hear what you think of it. I want you to break it down for us.”
Ben went on to share the quote. He said, “She said this, she said, ‘Listen, Clayton might be a lot of things, but he’s not a liar. And that meant a lot to me.’” He then asked Clayton to reveal what he thought she meant by that.
At first, Clayton laughed and said, “Oh, Susie.” He then said he was going to hold off on that question. However, he went ahead and shared his thoughts on it anyway.
What Exactly Did He Say?
Clayton Echard shared that he and Susie Evans relationship didn’t work out for many reasons. He went on to say that there were things she did and things he did. From his point of view, there are reasons it didn’t work out based on the way she acted and vice versa.
Clayton said,
“I haven’t really been in agreeance with a few of the times that she’s made small comments that carry a lot more weight. I think that that direct quote was one of them. So, I wish Susie the best.”
He went on to say more about his take on the comment. He said, “I don’t think that comment was necessary in the way it was framed. I also don’t think a few other things she said at some points. So I felt like she was trying to make it seem like I was the whole reason that the relationship didn’t work.”
Clayton Has Expressed His Feelings About Her Comment
Bachelor Clayton Echard went on to say that he had told Susie that he didn’t really like how she said that. He noted she could have just said he’s not a liar. She didn’t have to add the part of he may be many things. Clayton felt like her motive for the comment was possibly off.
He also admitted that he could be wrong about the way she meant it. He also said that he never got an answer from her as to what she meant when she said it. However, he moved on from it and said it is what it is.
