General Hospital Battle Royale: A Shocking Discovery Sets in Motion Sam’s Worst Nightmare

If you’ve watched a soap opera for even a few years, you could see what General Hospital was doing when it revealed in the November 20 episode (recapped here) that Sam’s will stipulated that Drew be made Danny and Scout’s guardian: The daytime drama was laying the groundwork for an explosive custody battle.

That Scout should live with her father is a no-brainer. But Danny’s future is a bigger question mark. As Alexis noted as she reviewed her daughter’s last wishes, which were designed to keep her kids together, Jason was “dead” again when the document was drawn up. Alexis couldn’t be sure that at that point Sam had even been with Dante, who only got to be her fiancé for what, hours?

That uncertainty opens up a Pandora’s box of juicy drama. Whether Jason would even want custody of Danny — he’s always been more concerned about Carly and Sonny’s family — he for sure wouldn’t want Drew having it. Would Jason fight for his son, just to keep him away from Drew? Would Stone Cold be willing to risk putting Danny directly in the line of fire of his lucrative but dangerous career as a hitman?

Theoretically, since Dante and Sam had blended their families prior to her death, he could offer himself up as a viable option to take custody of Danny and Scout. The move would give them some consistency and provide a stabler living situation than Jason or Drew could.

There’s just one problem: Yeah, Drew himself. Given the current animosity between the twin brothers over his fling with nephew Michael’s wife Willow, he might oppose Dante keeping Danny just because it’s what Jason might want. Then we’d be left with a three-way tug of war over a teenager who’s just lost his mother and needs this kinda angst like he needs a hole in the head!
