According to PEOPLE, a guest staying at the same hotel as Liam Payne said they heard noises and violent screams before the incident occurred.

And according to the newly announced initial autopsy results, the male singer had 25 injuries, of which a huge head wound could lead to immediate death. Liam Payne suffered bleeding inside and outside the skull, chest, abdomen and limbs which led to his death. The injuries are also completely consistent with Liam Payne falling from a height of about 13-14m to the ground.

Authorities are still conducting further investigation into the incident. They also determined the victim was experiencing an flare-up due to the effects of substance abuse. Based on the fall location and injuries on the body, the prosecution said that Liam Payne did not try to protect himself when he fell and may have been partially unconscious at the time of the accident.

Authorities also found strange substances that appeared to be drugs and alcoholic beverages in Liam Payne’s hotel room. Some furniture in the room was also destroyed. 5 witnesses including 2 women and 3 hotel employees who had contact with the male singer before his fall also worked with the police to provide testimony to clarify the cause of Liam Payne’s death. The male singer was said to have had unusual behavior before his death and this was reported to 911 by hotel staff.
